A Grand Encounter for A Grand Libation: Grand Marnier
By Lauren Wire
Grand Marnier is celebrating the upcoming holiday season with Grand Encounter by Grand Marnier in Chelsea, NYC through Saturday October 22nd. The immersive experience transports consumers into the world of Grand Marnier to discover the brand's history, heritage, and taste the iconic liquid.
I’ve been to several pop-up and immersive experiences from brands like Taco Bell, Vinho Verde and more. This experience did not disappoint and hit all the right marks. There are time slots available every 20 minutes from 12pm to 10pm at 543 W 28th Street.
Most of us are familiar with the red ribbon that hugs the bottle of Grand Marnier. For those of you not familiar, Grand Marnier is a unique blend of fine French cognac with Bigaradia orange whose recipe has not changed since its creation almost 150 years ago! The brand’s history is made with a twist that’s captivated the world for over six generations. Don’t worry if you are not a cognac expert because you’ll leave the experience with a whole lot of knowledge and a real taste of the incredible beverage.
Without giving too much away, you’ll make your way through several well-curated rooms that provide insight into the notable brand and how each product in the Grand Marnier comes to be. Find out about the aging process, where they source the oranges and how best to pair the varying cognacs. From taste to smell, each stop on the tour finds a way to play to the senses that make tasting experiences memorable, and have experts along the way to answer any questions. Not to mention, the entire tour gives off very chic vibes and plenty of Instagrammable moments.
Guests will also have the opportunity to order a bottle of Grand Marnier online through ReserveBar - granting them access to complimentary engravings + free shipping. If you can’t join, be sure to still check out Grand Marnier
