Isn’t your health worth it?
Read MoreWellness has become more of a “fad” as of late. People strive to share their green smoothies, post-workout selfies, and eco-conscious compost pile. And though a fad often implies a short time period, we’re not too upset that this lifestyle focus is gaining recognition. More and more people are recognizing the power of a sustainable lifestyle and trying to get that mindset into all different areas of their life. That includes the home. Ensure a home that’s with the times (and not just a fad) with these home design tips that focus on wellness.
That compost pile we were just talking about? Utilize it and don’t let it become a passing craze for your household. Rather than having to walk out to the backyard, purchase an actual compost bin. These can fit into drawers with your trash bin or can even be small, unnoticeable receptacles. They are no longer that stinky area that ruins your kitchen. There are tons of options for compost bins and sprays to make sure your composting takes off.
The higher your air quality and the more toxin-free your home, the better. There are a lot of areas around the home that could benefit from a bit more thought before designing. The paint you put on the walls is one of those things. For example, it’s easy to just choose a traditional paint—but that knee-jerk reaction isn’t one focused on wellness. Rather, when you choose paints for people with chemical sensitivities, you’ll put yourself on the path of a clean and healthy home.
We use hands-free faucets in public—why wouldn’t we want to do that at home. With the coronavirus pandemic keeping people more on their toes about hand-washing practices, a hands-free faucet may be just what you need. These faucets reduce germ spread, save water, and are easier to operate. It seems like a win-win!
A simple home design tip that focuses on wellness is to simply add more greenery. When you bring nature into your home, it’s not only good for the air quality, but it also helps soothe your mind. Bring in low-maintenance plants, bright flowers for sunny days, and start an herb garden in the kitchen. It’s an easy design choice that comes with big results!
Wellness comes in many forms—physical, spiritual, emotional, psychological, and so much more. Make sure your home is ready for all sorts of wellness by adding in some specialty rooms. If physical wellness is important to you, make the space for a home gym. If you value meditation, create a Zen room. If you can create an area where the key focus is wellness, your home will do wonders for your health.

The bigger story is in e-commerce, where total alcohol sales launched a 291% increase over the end of March 2019.“

The days are getting colder and the leaves are changing colors. Fall is upon us which means we will all soon be layering up and be spending our days cozying up by the fire watching scary movies or going outside to go pumpkin picking. The days are going to be shorter which means less sunlight. This does not mean however, that we can skip our use of sunscreen. In fact, this should be part of our routine all year round.
The cooler weather does not affect the UVB/UVA rays that are emitted by the sun all year. Yes, the days may be shorter but UVA rays still pose a threat to skin all the time, even when it is cloudy!

Not only does sunscreen decrease the risk of skin cancer, it also helps with anti-aging and premature wrinkles. Regardless of gender, race, and skin type, everyone should be including SPF in their own skin care regimen every single day.
It can be hard to choose what type of sunscreen to use when there are so many on the market. One says it is mineral sunscreen with an SPF of 15 while the other says it is a chemical sunscreen with an SPF of 30. Which one is best for you? It is simply personal preference.
It is important to understand the differences between the two. A chemical sunscreen is known to absorb into the skin which then absorbs the UV rays converting them into heat energy. While a mineral or physical sunscreen lays on top of the skin and reflects the UV rays — this is often seen as the sunscreen that shows up white on the skin (sometimes applied to the nose in movies or shows). While it is recommended that people with acne prone skin use a mineral or physical sunscreen because it less known to clog up the pores, there are still many that trust a chemical sunscreen.
Nowadays it’s easier to incorporate sunscreen to your daily routine. Products ranging from makeup to moisturizers to serums all have SPF in them. These are some recommendations based on skin type and price.
This supergoop! Sunscreen and primer is an innovative clear sunscreen that won’t be ashy on people of color and is perfect for those with oily and acne prone skin

One of my favorite parts about grocery shopping is creating new dishes and quite honestly the desserts section. Since going on keto, this has limited the foods such as fruits and desserts. Following a keto lifestyle sometimes takes away the magic that comes along with filling up my cart with fruits. The controversy over including fruits in the keto diet is a big one and one you have to tackle from every angle.
Having too many sweets like dessert or even fruit, can take you out of ketosis and inhibit fat burning. Fortunately, I discovered Explorado Market a keto bakery and grocery store online, with some of the best keto desserts I’ve ever tried. Best part is you can eat without worrying of breaking keto.

Speaking of chocolate chip with only 1 net carb per serving, these Keto chocolate chips are sure to be your new favorite treat. Melts like a dream! Perfect to go with yogurt or your favorite baked good.
Perfect addition to all your Keto treatness... With 0 grams of net carbs, this frosting blend is perfect for diabetics and those on the Keto diet. You get 10 servings per tub of this delicious frosting.
Get rid of those terrible sugar-filled energy packets (too much sugar and it’s not sustainable energy) – get the right energy your body craves with Fat Fit Go. This 10 pack offers a discounted price over buying singles. These 1oz chocolate nut butter Fat Fit Go packets are the perfect travel companion. I understand, we’ve all been there.
Seemingly every few months another fitness trend comes out- new ways to be our healthiest and fittest selves – debunking old tips while establishing new tricks. The truth is, we treat fitness like a one size fits all, and can feel defeated when it doesn’t work. Really the most important thing is to try and try and try until you find that thing - that style, that workout – that works best for you and your body.
So maybe it’s time to give “cold workouts” a shot.
In cold temperatures your metabolism speeds up in an attempt to regulate your body and burn those extra calories. Instead of mainly burning carbs, your body also starts to burn stored fat. Cold weather works to strengthen your heart- working harder to distribute blood throughout your body. Feeling awake and more energized, cold workouts can improve endurance and muscle recovery.
Located in Flatiron/Chelsea on 107 W. 20th Street, the Brrrn is the first cold workout studios of it’s kind in NYC. The concept originated when creators Johnny and Jimmy trained inside a 38 degree beer fridge at a brewery in Brooklyn and realized no gyms in the U.S. operated below 72 degrees. After studying the benefits they created the Brrrn.
Brrrn offers reservations for multiple classes in 50-degree temperatures. The HIT class is a 50-minute high intensity class that uses ropes and various weights for a total body workout, while the SLIDE class offers a core and cardio low to mid-impact session. They also offer a 50 minute class combining the two styles.
For beginners looking to start cold workouts – no worries – they detail dress code, suggesting to dress in light layers and offering free booties to those taking SLIDE or HIT + SLIDE classes. They offer a 2 class for $38 First Timer Special and multiple other package deals – from 5 classes/Sauna Packs for $160.00 to 20 classes/Sauna packs for $600.00.

Read MoreNo matter how much we love winter and the cozy nights in, our skin often does not, and we cannot neglect it. It’s only natural that some people’s skin reacts more extremely than others. Often this reaction leads to peeling, eczema, and blotchy skin, especially on our cheeks that goes beyond a slight blush effect. Check out our best skincare tips for you to use this Winter.
If you suffer from, or want to prevent dreaded winter skin, here are a few tips.

Now, I’d say this is for those who live in very dry, stale and frozen areas. It’s much more difficult to reach any level of humidity and expose your skin to it. To do so, this would add a lot of much needed moisture that sometimes the dry weather can bring into our skin. That being said, over-humidifying is also not good, so only turn to it if it’s really necessary. If you're puzzled which spec to look for, here we have an informative humidifier for skincare brands analysis.
Something we have to switch up our summer/warmer weather cleansers to a much gentler, less harsh one. Often, much harsher ones will strip our skin of those oils that are already low in the winter. We recommend, Bliss Rose Gold Rescue Gentle Foaming Cleanser for Sensitive Skin, $13
It may seem daunting to exfoliate when you already have sensitive and dry skin, right? Well, exfoliating is a must for the dry patches that sometimes arise when the weather gets below freezing. Though you need to focus on exfoliating, don’t over exfoliate. This can have a detrimental effect of an even more excessive amount of dry skin.
If you still aren’t convinced due to the harshness of exfoliating, here’s an alternative that still rids your skin of those dry cells. Clarisonic Skin Renewing Peel Treatment, $39
This is actually something that so many people forget about in the winter months (and maybe even the summer, too). Just like the rest of your skin, this also needs to be hydrated and kept an eye on. You could look into having a scalp treatment done in hair salons near you, but of course, you could do one at home, too, and even invest in a nice shampoo brush for your scalp. In general, just don’t forget this, because it’s still apart of your skin!
During the summer months, or any time during the year that isn’t winter, we typically use a light lotion with a built in SPF, if that. We don’t like the heavy feeling of products on our skin when it’s so hot outside.
It’s incredibly important to not use a lotion, but to step it up to a cream, ointment or serum because it will provide a greater level of moisture.
A few options are:
Naturally Serious Supercharge Anti-Oxidant Moisture Serum, $56
SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2, $128 (2 for 1, anti-aging and nourishing)
We often fail to realize that, even though we love those hot, steaming showers, they aren’t that good for our skin. The longer and warmer the shower, the more time that water has to strip your skin of the natural oils due to its repelling quality. It’s recommended that we limit our showers to be shorter and in warm water, not hot water.
Dry skin is often a big inconvenience, but it’s manageable. You don’t have to just deal with it, you learn to work with it. There are many different skin types, and because of that, there are many different skin routines out there.
When traveling on vacation, your chances of getting sick increase. Being in a new environment surrounded by lots more people can expose you to more bacteria and germs. People in the United States get approximately one billion colds every year. If you don’t have a plan of attack, you could end up spending your vacation time cooped up in bed rather than exploring all the sights. Here are ten tips on how to avoid getting sick when visiting New York City this winter.
New York City is a food mecca of gourmet cuisines and street vendors. If you overeat, you will wind up getting sick and not be able to truly enjoy your vacation. Be wary of street vendors. You don’t know how fresh the food is. If it’s been sitting out all day, you could get food poisoning and end up spending your time in the emergency room.
Do your best to eat like you would if you were at home. Avoid junk food that doesn’t provide you with the nutrients you need to stay healthy. Limit the introduction of new foods that you have never tried before so that your body can have time to get used to it.
Just because NYC boasts itself as the city that never sleeps, it’s not a good idea for you to adopt the same philosophy. Your body needs at least 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night to function properly. You’ll help boost your immune system to fight germs and bacteria from getting you sick. The city can be a bit noisy at night which can keep you awake if you’re sensitive to noise. Consider investing in earplugs, sleep medication, or a sound machine to help you drown out all the bustling activity.
Wash your hands frequently using plenty of soap and water, especially after meals and trips to the restroom. Dry off your hands with paper towels or a high-speed Dyson hand dryer to avoid spreading germs back onto your hands. Use hand sanitizer when you don’t have access to soap and water. If you are visiting family members who have small children, you may want to consider washing and sanitizing your hands more often. Approximately 87% of five-year-olds are enrolled in pre-primary programs in the United States. If your nieces, nephews, and cousins are a part of that population, they could be carrying tons of bacteria from school.
Keeping hydrated by drinking plenty of water can help prevent you from becoming sick. Since our body is made up of mostly water, it’s important to replenish our organs to keep them functioning properly. Carry bottled water with you at all times to help you avoid the risk of developing diarrhea from drinking tap water that carries bacteria you aren’t used to.
Taking vitamin and mineral supplements can help prevent you from getting sick. Vitamins A, C, and D can boost your immune system. Probiotics can reduce the number of bacteria that can cause illness from wreaking havoc. Adding supplements to a healthy diet rich in fiber will give your stomach the ability to fight off unhealthy bacteria so you can spend more time enjoying your new experiences.
According to the CDC, there have been at least 710,000M flu-related hospitalizations since 2010. One of the best ways to avoid getting sick is to prevent it from happening in the first place. Before going to New York City, make an appointment with your doctor for a checkup and to get your flu shot and any other necessary vaccinations.
To avoid getting sick, do your best to keep your hands away from your face, especially your eyes. This will help prevent germs on any surfaces you touch from entering your body. If you must touch your face for any reason, use facial tissues to provide a barrier.
Drinking and smoking can both cause dehydration, which increases your chances of getting sick. Cigarettes can make your cold and flu symptoms last even longer. Alcohol can also prevent you from getting a good night’s sleep, which can weaken your immune system. Eliminating these two activities can help keep you healthier so you can focus on enjoying your stay.
Just because you are on vacation doesn’t mean you can skimp on your workouts. Exercise can help prevent respiratory tract infections from developing as well as shortening their duration. Keep your exercise routine the same as if you were home. If you don’t normally exercise, do as much walking around the city as possible while you are on vacation. Not only will you be able to better take in the sights, but you’ll keep yourself healthier as well!
If you do need to go to the hospital or urgent care center because you’re sick, you’ll want to keep your health insurance documents handy in a safe place where you won’t lose them. The Gartner Group estimates that around 15% of all paper documents get misplaced and 7.5% of them get lost completely. When you are on vacation, you can easily forget where you put your health insurance cards. Designate a specific place for these documents where you can easily access them if you need them.
Before you travel, it’s a good idea to check with your insurance company about what providers in New York City are covered under your plan. Make a list of contact information for these providers and keep it in your smartphone for easy access. That way, you can seek treatment and shorten the duration of your illness should you get sick during your visit.
You’ve probably looked forward to this trip for a long time now. Getting sick would ruin all your fun plans and you definitely don’t want that. If you can keep yourself protected, you can truly enjoy everything the Big Apple has to offer. Following these ten tips will help you avoid getting sick when visiting New York City this winter.
Truth be told, CoolSculpting is one of the trendiest procedures in the cosmetic industry nowadays, which is exactly why it deserves a shout-out. So, if you want to learn more about this outstanding procedure that gives great results, all you need to do is to keep on reading. Here are five reasons to try CoolSculpting this winter, so check them out and enjoy!
In case you didn’t know, CoolSculpting is one of the most effective fat-removing procedures these days, which places it at the top of the list of popular cosmetic procedures. What’s particularly interesting about CoolSculpting is the fact that it isn’t a traditional weight-loss tool. On the contrary, it’s designed for people close to their ideal weight, who are in relatively good health, but who can’t get rid of body fat no matter how hard they exercise or how healthy they eat. Well, CoolSculpting is the perfect choice for those people as it targets body fat that can’t be dealt with easily, which is usually found in areas such as inner and outer thighs, upper arms, flanks, knees, abdomen, bra bulges, back fat, and similar ones. So, if you’re desperate to get rid of that stubborn body fat, CoolSculpting may be the right choice for you!
Another fabulous benefit of CoolSculpting is the fact that this procedure has almost no downtime at all. This means that you’ll be able to get back to your job and other everyday activities immediately after the treatment, without having to stay in your bed for a week or so. CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure performed by placing an applicator on the skin directly above the fatty tissue. Once the process starts, the fat cells will be cooled off and removed from your system, without damaging the surrounding, healthy tissue. Even though there is no downtime, you can expect to experience mild swelling, bruising, tingling, and tenderness, none of which will stop you from resuming your daily activities.
If you’ve always thought that going under the knife is the only way to get rid of stubborn body fat and achieve a flawless figure, girl, were you wrong! The cosmetic industry has developed so much over the last decades, which is exactly why there are so many amazing non-surgical procedures that can deliver almost the same results as their surgical counterparts. One of these is CoolSculpting, which is performed in clinics all across the world these days – including the United Arab Emirates. So, no matter if you’re a beauty tourist or you live there, just go for CoolSculpting in Dubai and you won’t make a mistake. That’s a promise!
A large number of patients who have already tried CoolSculpting claim that the results can be seen almost immediately after the first treatment, which is a fabulous benefit you mustn’t overlook. However, you should bear in mind that results are completely individual, which is why you shouldn’t be desperate if all of your body fat doesn’t go away after a single treatment. Instead, be persistent and keep up with your treatments. For example, the majority of people experience groundbreaking results about two months after a CoolSculpting treatment. Besides that, you need to remember that your body will continue to get rid of fat cells for another 4 to 6 months after the procedure.
The price of CoolSculpting varies depending on the number of areas that require treatment. You can read about coolsculpting prices here, or do some research in your local area. Remember, quality results take time.
Yes, we know that it probably sounds superficial, but the fact is that the way you look can affect the way you feel about yourself. Thanks to advancements in medical technology, such as those behind CoolSculpting, you’ll be able to improve your appearance and boost your self-esteem in the blink of an eye, which is an amazing benefit you should bear in mind. This is particularly important if you’ve been trying to get rid of body fat through a healthy diet and physical activity without significant results, so don’t wait any longer and give this revolutionary procedure a fair shot. The fact that there is no downtime and that you don’t have to go under the knife should also motivate you to opt for CoolSculpting, so think about it and choose if it’s the right treatment for you!
As you can see, there truly are a lot of great reasons to try CoolSculpting this winter, but these five definitely are the best ones out there. So, if you want to get rid of stubborn body fat without having to go for a surgical procedure, just give CoolSculpting a chance and you’ll do a great job, without a shadow of a doubt!

As we grow older, we have to pay attention to many things to keep ourselves healthy. We have to care about our diet, alcohol intake, sleep, and of course – exercising. At that age, people are starting to have families and balancing business and private, family lives is not an easy feat. You drive your kids to school and you surely want to devote some hours to them when you get back from work. Try to wedge some fitness time in that busy schedule and to also make it count! Here’s what you can do to get the best out of your exercises and also save some of your valuable time.
Why is this important and how is it related to fitness? Well, some lifestyle habits can cause health problems. This is especially true of substance abuse – like alcohol and tobacco, to name but two. When your doctor monitors your body mass index, they can determine your chance of developing some diseases. You should come up with a fitness plan with that analysis in mind in order to prevent obesity and heart disease. Fitness should help you stay healthy, not just get fit, so use this chance to ask your doctor how to combine that with your eating habits to maximize the effects.
Don’t wait for your health problems to develop into something more serious that requires thoracic surgery. Instead, get the jump on them now. Go to your local GP and get them to examine, take your bloods and find out whether there is anything that could potentially get in the way of your new fitness goals. Remember, the sooner you can get help, the better.
We spend a lot of time sitting at work and at home, so our body gets stiff. Even if we work out, our range of motion decreases over time and we usually don’t pay much attention to it. Stretching before the workout reduces stiffness and increases range of movement during exercising. It is also important to stretch to avoid muscle injuries, as tight muscles are prone to that. Flexibility also improves your posture and it helps you relax and release tension. If you have some spare time, consider taking a yoga class; if not, you can just do some exercises at home, or even at work.
If you’re not doing so already, you should start seeing a chiropractor on a regular basis. This is important because if you’ve been doing an office job or any job that requires you to be sitting for a long period of time each day, by the time you reach your 30s, that’ll really start to take its toll on your back. Ignoring the issue now might cause even bigger problems for your physical wellbeing later. You can also look into Research Peptides for pain management. You should come up with a fitness plan with that analysis in mind in order to prevent obesity and heart disease. Together with a plan, you can check out online growth hormones such TB500, you can check out online some TB500 for sale.
There are many age-related health issues we are anxious about. Some of them are changes in our articular cartilage, which can lead to joint injuries and diseases, as healthy cartilage in our joints makes it easier for us to move. Weightlifting seems like a daunting task to a lot of people, but there are exercises with a wide range of movement which train our joints, so it’s worth giving it a try! Although, you should decrease training volume as you get older by removing single-joint exercises to minimize joint stress and fatigue. Weightlifting also helps you recover your testosterone levels which begin to drop at this age, which, among other things, affects your muscle mass and bone strength. As we grow older, we have to pay attention to many things to keep ourselves healthy
The decrease in testosterone levels affects the stimulation of muscle protein synthesis to protein, insulin, exercise, and amino acid, which contributes to the decline in muscle mass. The key regulator is daily nutrient intake, and in case you’re too busy to spend hours shopping at markets, you can buy good nutritional supplements online. This is especially important if you’re on a calorie-restricted diet, as it will help you catch up on nutrients while still losing weight.
Getting enough sleep is really important to let your body rest, so it would be ready to get you through the day tomorrow. Consider doing some simple weightlifting moves about 30 minutes before going to bed, as it can increase your resting metabolic rate for some hours after the exercise. Also, when we sleep we produce growth hormone which helps us build muscle. So, good quality sleep lets the muscles you worked on during the day repair and build up when you’re asleep. Adequate sleep will also motivate you to stick to your exercise plans the next day.
Time management in our 30s is essential to our accomplishments and happiness, and there are alternatives if you can’t spend much time at the gym or yoga class. Try working out at home, there are plenty of calisthenic exercises which require no equipment and you can still build some muscles. You can also do yoga at home, or try some meditation exercises. It will help you relax and improve your posture and flexibility. Invite your family to join you, as you can spend some time with them while also working out.
