This summer, attendees will be welcomed to explore the many wonders of Kate Young’s exquisite affair, inspired by the lavish parties of the early 1920s as portrayed in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Beautiful and Damned.” Harnessing her unique eye to reimagine the 1,000 hand-picked elderflowers in every bottle of St-Germain, Kate will transform The Battery into a surrealist oasis inviting guests to forage their own path through the enchanting grounds.
Each space – including the whimsical Sea Glass Carousel – will serve as a new discovery, featuring joyful surprises including grandiose flowers and mythical objects, along with integrated performances fusing actors into elements of the décor. Drawing inspiration from the lavish parties of the 1920s as portrayed in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s cautionary tale “The Beautiful and Damned,” the midsummer fete will celebrate life’s fleeting moments with artfully crafted cocktails and festive bites. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to The Battery Conservancy.
