Lucy Sparrow is once again in NYC and with her sixth art installation, “Delicatessen on 6th” she’s making quite the press with her amazing hand-stitched art. Sparrow’s installation is the latest in the “Art in Focus” series at Rockefeller Center, which is a multidisciplinary public art program presented in partnership with the non-profit Art Production

Lucy Sparrow Delicatessen on 6th

“Delicatessen on 6th” is an interactive public art project located on the corner of 49th Street and 6th Ave, which showcases a felt shop that resembles an upscale deli in NYC. Sparrow noticed that New York has such a variety of delis all over the place but she was even more surprised by how fancy delis have gotten in NYC and with that she wanted to show her finds through felt. All items on display have been hand-stitched by Sparrow herself which even includes a felt cash register. The items that can be seen at this art installation range from fish to chocolate to fruit to bags of chips to pretzels to vegetables and more. This really cute and innovative art installation is an experience you do not want to miss.

 Open 11am - 8pm, 7 days a week, October 1 - 20, 2019.
