The Best Nightlife Spots in the Caribbean
Famous for immaculate sandy beaches, stunning azure waters, and a very relaxed lifestyle, the Caribbean is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. With so many activities and sights to see, visitors are spoiled for choice when it comes to spending their days in the sunshine. But the fun doesn’t end at sundown, as some of the islands in the Caribbean are also known for their vibrant nightlife! From open-air dance halls to laid-back beach bars, there is a party for every occasion in the Caribbean.
So, if you’re looking for somewhere warm to get away from the winter, check out this list of nightlife destinations in the Caribbean. All of that dancing will warm you up in no time!
Jamaica
The home of reggae music, Jamaica offers plenty of options when it comes to lighting up the dance floor. The whole island has a host of nightlife spots, but a trip to Negril is essential if you want to catch live reggae every night of the week (just head to Rick’s Café). Check out Montego Bay for its vibrant Hip Strip, which positively pulsates with party vibes. The hotels in Montego Bay are also great for a party fix; The Moon Palace Jamaican Grande, for example, boasts eight bars, as well as weekly-themed disco and casino parties.
Jost Van Dyke
If you’re fortunate enough to be heading to the British Virgin Islands, then Jost Van Dyke is the place to release your inner wild side. Bar hopping is super easy here, as the island is only four miles long and all of the nightlife spots are congregated in three locations: Great Harbour, White Bay, and Little Harbour. In Great Harbour, you can kick back with a few drinks at Foxy’s and Ali Baba’s, while on the side of White Bay you can find the Soggy Dollar Bar—home of the famous rum-based Painkiller cocktail. Little Harbour, meanwhile, is home to Sydney’s Peace & Love and Abe’s by the Sea.
Bahamas
While there is some debate as to whether the Bahamas qualifies as a Caribbean destination, it wouldn’t be right to leave out the island of Nassau and its incredible clubs and bars. The open-air dance halls and beach clubs make the nightlife in the Bahamas one of its biggest attractions. The Ibiza Bahamas Beach Club is host to pool parties during the day and then transforms into a Euro-style dance hall in the evening, while Club Luna is a distinctive outdoor club in the courtyard of an old colonial-style building.
Aruba
Aruba is known for its beautiful diving locations and abundance of water-based activities, but at night it transforms into party central. With more than 10 casinos, stand-up comedy, glitzy cabarets, nightclubs, and beach bars, the nightlife in Aruba is definitely worth checking out. Brush up on your salsa steps at Cuba’s Cookin’ and watch a live band play some merengue music in the heart of Palm Beach.
St. Martin
The island at St. Martin features some of the most exciting nightlife in the Caribbean. Once the sun has set, the trendy beach bars, nightclubs and dance halls prepare to deliver everyone a night to remember. From outdoor dance parties to relaxed beach bar entertainment, there is something for everyone on this party island. Tantra Night Club in Maho is home to one of the largest dance floors on the island and regularly hosts international DJs. Sky Beach in Maho is a stunning beach bar set against the starry night sky—ideal for partying the night away.
Wherever you choose to party in the Caribbean, you can be sure to find an evening that suits your mood. Whether you prefer relaxed acoustic ambience or the glitz and glamour of a large-scale dance hall, the Caribbean has just the party for you. Just remember to pack your dancing shoes!
