Finding A Place Where Feasts & Fun Become One

When it comes to having fun, there are few things which go together as well as food and drink. People have been combining these elements for thousands of years, all in the pursuit of a good time, and this is still developing and evolving to this very day. Of course, as a big part of this, there are loads of world events which are dedicated to the good stuff. To help you on your journey to finding these special times, this post will be exploring some of the best on offer, giving you an insight into the world of foodie travel.

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is one of the world’s most popular festivals, and is celebrated in loads of different places. Starting with strong ties to several religious festivals, it’s hard to see the old influence in what is done today, with food and drinks being a huge part of the fun. Soulard is home to one of the biggest of these festivals. You can find loads of Soulard Restaurants online, giving you an idea of what might be on offer if you attend the event for yourself. Of course, this isn’t the best sort of setting for children, though a lot of places have activities during the day for younger people to get involved with.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is well known around the world as one of Germany’s most treasured cultural events. In the past, this festival was a chance for people from all walks of life to share food and drink together, enjoying the bounty of the previous year’s work. Nowadays, it’s mostly about sharing a drink or two, along with loads of delicious food. You can find examples of Oktoberfest all over the world, with the US being a great place to soak up this sort of setting without having to travel to Germany. Like Mardi Gras, Oktoberfest isn’t designed for children.

Carnival

You can find carnivals all over the world, but nothing will ever be able to beat the spectacle which fills the streets of Rio De Janeiro each year. Dating back to the 1700’s, this event is the largest of its kind, with more people coming to see the fun than you will find in some small cities on their own. Of course, when you get this many people together, you also tend to find food, and Brazil will have plenty on offer when you go to the Carnival. This sort of event is the best on this list for kids, though you have to be aware that Rio isn’t always the safest city to visit.

With all of this in mind, you should be feeling ready to take on the challenge of finding where feasts and fun become one. This is a great approach to take on vacation, giving you the chance to live like a local and soak up the lives that they live. Of course, though, it’s also worth thinking about the other aspects of these events, as food and drink only tend to be a part of it, and they will have loads on offer.
